A view over Appiano
The barrel in honor of the foundation
This barrel dates back to 1913, carved by the Val Gardena artist Stanislaus Gruber in honour of the foundation in 1907. It has a capacity of 150 hl.

This is a tribute to Mr Walcher Matthias, who took over the winery in the difficult year 1936 and was its president for 25 years.
The winetasting
This relief was created by the famous sculptor David Moroder from Val Gardena in 1974 as a tribute to long-standing customer loyalty.

Most of our Pinot Blanc Sanct Valentin is stored here in 500l French oak barrels.
Originally the cellar was a concrete barrel covered with glass tiles, formerly used for the alcoholic fermentation of "Vernatsch" wine.

The Hortus Conclusus (enclosed garden) explains the terroir of our winery: the soils, the cultivation of the plants in the vineyard and the different types of viticulture.
Plant diversity
For centuries the vine has been accompanied by a great variety of plants that grow in the area: pomegranates, olives, figs, peaches and almonds.
Living encyclopaedia
The Hortus Conclusus forms a kind of "living encyclopaedia of wine culture", says Angonese. The architect was inspired by the frescoes in the Torre Aquila of the Castello di Buonconsiglio, which served as an iconographic model.
